FORTUNE and Great Place to Work name Workiva among the 100 Best Companies to Work For
This year marked the 23rd publication of FORTUNE Magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work For list. Along with their partners at Great Place to Work, the magazine identified three things that major contenders had in common:
1) Inclusion has become the gold standard for employee-centric companies.
2) The bar rises every year.
3) Workplace happiness is not a myth.
This year, Workiva (NYSE:WK) ranked 58 on the 100 Best list, which considers extensive culture audits and survey responses from more than 650,000 employees across all industries in the U.S. Employees rated their workplace on many factors including trust in leadership, fairness and camaraderie.
FORTUNE reports that employees love the cloud-based enterprise software company’s culture of support, including 12 weeks of parental leave, flexible hours, and an emphasis on growth (“I don’t think I’ve worked anywhere this interested in my career development,” says one staffer), as well as the Slow Clap, a spontaneous building of applause to recognize a coworker’s achievement. Town hall meetings with executive management and inner-office feedback or requests often yield results, like designated parking for expectant mothers, in a matter of days.
