Workiva Inc. is a fast growing global editor of software-as-a-service (“SaaS”) products and services (the “Workiva Platform”). Workiva UK Limited is the main distributor of the Workiva Platform for UK based customers. Currently, we are also incorporated in The Netherlands and maintain significant sales offices in Germany, France and Spain, as well as several countries in APAC. All global entities are fully owned subsidiaries of Workiva Inc. that is publicly listed at the NYSE under the ticker symbol WK.
Workiva Inc. and its subsidiaries have a Supplier Code of Conduct in place, and its suppliers are expected to conduct their business in accordance with all applicable law and to the highest ethical standards. By signing up our suppliers to our Supplier Code of Conduct, we are committed to upholding the human rights of workers in our supply chain and treating them with dignity and respect, ensuring safe working conditions, and conducting responsible ethical operations.
As an editor and provider of SaaS products and services that are hosted in the public cloud we have the following supply chain. Our main suppliers by cost factor are our hosting solution providers, followed closely by facilities and office supplies. In addition, on customer’s request, we sometimes subcontract the setting up of documents to a global provider of these services.
We are committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within both our business and our supply chain. In pursuit of this goal, we are taking the following actions. Where necessary, our vendor management leaders communicate with and visit our suppliers, and are in conversation about expected work load.
Our values commitment from the very top of management is to prioritize personal growth, excellent working conditions, and supportive interpersonal relations. We maintain and follow legally compliant and ethical HR policies and we train our employees at least annually in different aspects of ethical behavior. We expect the same from our suppliers and strive to enable and influence their management to develop, maintain and follow their own ethical HR policies.
In accordance with the United Nations Global Compact on human rights, labor standards and environmental protection (January 1999) we seek to observe the following ten principles that fall into four categories:
1 – Human rights
- Support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed rights within the realm of our influence;
- Ensure that we are not complicit in human rights abuses.
2 – Labor
- Uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
- Eliminate all forms of forced and compulsory labor;
- Effective abolition of child labor;
- Elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
3 – Environment
- Support a precautionary approach to environment challenges;
- Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility;
- Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
4 – Anti-corruption
- Work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
Whilst we continue to develop our approach to truly global ethical employment standards for our employees and our suppliers, we will continue to assess and manage risk of unethical behavior in all respects, including but not limited to the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
This statement is made in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Workiva UK Limited’s modern slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year commencing 1 January 2022 and ending 31 December 2022.
