Upland Software saves days with Wdesk for ERM

Marissa Palmer, SOX and Compliance Manager: We had your consultants come out and build out a whole bunch of stuff—the workbooks and the dashboards. We have the master workbook where the survey will be set out from where it’s got the probability and the severity. Those are feeding multiple sets of dashboards. A finance person wants to look at it one way, an operations person wants to look at it a different way, and the head of the company might want to see it yet a different way. Having all those dashboards, it’s going to tell the same story just from a different perspective, and that’s what I love about it.

For me, it saves me tons of time trying to reconcile. I just have to go to our master workbook and update things and all our process flows updated, all of our test sheets are updated. It saves me more than hours, if not days. You waste so much time reconciling data, reconciling metrics, making sure everything shows up the same in every single situation and that gets reduced to a minimum.

The fact that it is captured in such a clean, clear way, and it’s not on an Excel® template that’s got one version on somebody’s hard drive and one version here, that’s the biggest benefit. Nobody is going to create a new one, nobody is going to go do their own thing, it is all going to be here. That’s one of our biggest benefits, again back to the single source of truth. This can be as simple or as complex as you need it to be for your organization. Again, going back to that customer, this is like a one-size-fits-all that really does.
