AES Corporation – Investor Relations Testimonial

Transcript

Initially, when we first switched over to Workiva, we were just using it for our financial reporting. Then, after that first quarter, when we saw how easy it was, then we started implementing it to other areas.

So immediately, we saw the opportunity to go ahead and kind of bring in all the investor relations into Workiva so that we would have that one version of the truth and the consistency across both items. So now, we’ve virtually gotten all of their material into Workiva—which consists of the press releases, the earnings materials, the CFO scripts, the CEO scripts, the Q&A.

So for instance, we have audit committee presentation decks and disclosure committee meetings. We started putting those documents in there as well. And we were able to leverage information that we include in our Qs and Ks into those presentation decks right into the Wdesk tool. Which allowed for us not to constantly re-enter numbers that we've entered somewhere else. And whenever a number got updated in the document, or 10-Q, or 10-K, it would automatically update in the presentations. So, we would have consistency across all of what we are presenting publicly.

Our legal department now does the proxy statements in Workiva. As well as, we have some projects ongoing now that are not really finance related, in our HR department. They have score cards that they use to score different businesses, and they produce metrics on them. So they’re working on a project right with that.

I whole heartedly endorse the use of Wdesk.
