Biography
Ms. Coons is a Subject Matter Expert for the State, Local, and Education team at Workiva. She has 20 years of professional accounting experience—10 years with SAIC and Sempra Energy, and the last 10 years with San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG). Her professional experience includes two ERP system upgrade projects, preparation of both SEC and governmental financial statements, and other complex, special projects. Additionally, she taught at San Diego State University for four years as part of the Management Information Systems Department in the College of Business, and later in the Rhetoric and Writing Studies Department. She earned a Masters of Science in Accountancy from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration from University of North Carolina, Pembroke.
