After another year of working together from our offices and homes around the globe – we’ve made it to 2022! We’re already diving into our goals and objectives for the new year and looking forward to what we’ll accomplish. But before we fully turn our focus to our exciting future, we wanted to reflect on some of the amazing things we accomplished together in 2021.

There’s so much to celebrate from the past year, but here are our top ten highlights – in no particular order (because how could we ever choose?!)

  1. Launched a new brand identity
We started the year with a new look and feel that’s colorful and fun to drive brand awareness and grow our reputation around the world. The new brand personality helps clearly define us as the disruptors, innovators, professionals, and helpers that we are.

  1. Added 800 people to the Workiva team
It was a busy, busy year for our Talent Acquisition team! We added a record-breaking 800 new members to our team in 2021. This number includes doubling our headcount in APAC, where we now have 51 employees and reaching 305 employees in EMEA. Consider this your invite to join us!

  1. Set a record during our Annual Giving Campaign
Every year during our Annual Giving Campaign, members of our leadership team volunteer to take pies to the face to raise money for a good cause. This year employees voted with their dollars to get 10 leaders including our CEO pied – raising $55,000 in the process for UNICEF! In total throughout the campaign,we designated over $180,000 through employee and corporate donations to nine amazing charities.

  1. Celebrated our first acquisitions + GRC leadership
In August, we announced our first-ever acquisition. A partner since July 2019, OneCloud technology expanded the Workiva platform, providing our customers with the capability to connect data from third-party sources and on-premise applications. With the acquisition, Workiva now fully owns the complete end-to-end technology of our platform. And in December we acquired AuditNet, a digital portal where thought leaders and practitioners can connect and collaborate, share best practices, and build and scale programs that are essential for accelerating their digital transformation. This acquisition came on the heels of Workiva being named a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Governance Risk and Compliance Report.

  1. Led the ESG charge
Our platform’s ability to manage the most significant environmental, social and governance risks earned us an AA rating by investment authority Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) – highlighting our ESG leadership and commitment to building a better future. Through a survey we were the first company to identify that Gen-Z (the investors of the future) are keenly aware of ESG and are actively investing in companies that are transparent with their ESG data. And we also became the first SaaS company to join the United Nations Global Compact CFO Taskforce. Check out our ESG Global Impact Summary to learn more about our ESG mission!
