Diversity and Inclusion

We are better together

Diversity and inclusion are core values at Workiva. We strive to create a workplace where everyone is comfortable bringing their best, authentic self to work every day.

We foster a work environment that encourages fairness, teamwork, and respect among all employees. We value all backgrounds, beliefs, and interests, and we recognize this diversity as an important source of our innovation and success.

Our culture of diversity and inclusion increases employee engagement, empowerment, and satisfaction. And, happy employees mean happy customers.

Gender, race, and ethnicity

We track this data to establish where we are today and to help us to determine the next steps in our journey to becoming more diverse.

The categories in our data are not as inclusive as we would prefer. The race and ethnicity categories we used are consistent with the U.S. Department of Labor EEO-1 report. We are currently reporting the binary information we have access to, even though we recognize that gender is on a spectrum.

D&I Committee and employee resource groups

Our Diversity & Inclusion Committee is a driving force across the company that actively creates and hosts a wide range of events for employees to get involved.

D&I education and programs

We know that an educated workforce is essential to maintaining our accepting culture. In addition to our other learning and professional development programs, we offer a D&I Resource Portal on our company intranet, leadership training on inclusion, and an unconscious bias e-learning course.

In 2019, we added three new women's leadership programs that are advancing gender diversity across Workiva in several ways.
