Smooth Transitions Lead Orbitz to Big Savings
Orbitz Worldwide, the Chicago-based innovative online travel company, was taking on the challenge of turnover and growth in the external reporting department while trying to manage a decision from company management to switch to a brand-new filing system. Luckily for them, that new system was Wdesk. “We had a very quick and smooth transition to Wdesk,” says Gina Tesi, Senior Analyst at Orbitz. “It was learn as you go and it was really intuitive.”
Tesi joined the Orbitz team the same week they transitioned from their old word processing and spreadsheet system, but says she never felt like she was in over her head, thanks to the support and extensive online resources available from Wdesk. “The help section of Wdesk has a lot of detail so that if you don’t know how to do something, you can get the detailed answers you need,” Tesi says.
Nearly two years after the switch, the Orbitz team says they are saving time and money over traditional third-party printers. “We’d be paying approximately double what we’re paying today if we weren’t using Wdesk,” says Susan Shelby, Director of External Reporting and Technical Accounting at Orbitz.
