Nautilus lets Wdesk do the heavy lifting

Nautilus lets Wdesk do the heavy lifting
December 19, 2014

In order to streamline operations, Nautilus, Inc. eliminated the position of SEC Reporting Director and assigned all SEC reporting responsibilities to the Corporate Controller, Mary Kahl. Nautilus also hired a consultant to help along the way.

After working most of her career with a financial printer, the consultant suggested a move from Wdesk to a competing service for a quarter, with the added bonus of a free trial of its newest solution.

Kahl agreed, but not without a contingency plan.

With the financial printer, the report development process was rough, but the end result was an even bigger concern. "There wasn’t anything inaccurate in our document, but when it was transmitted to the SEC, there were a lot of presentation issues within the document," said Kahl.

After just one quarter with the financial printer, Kahl was ready to make the change back to Workiva.
