Make your auditors happy—and your boss too
Battling a manual and disjointed Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) process with Word® and Excel®, the team at Alphatec Spine, part of the medical technology company Alphatec Holdings, Inc., knew there had to be a better way.
Lauren Warrem, Manager of Technical Compliance, made an important decision that positively impacted her company: she added SOX to the Wdesk portfolio that already included SEC reporting.
Previously, if there was a change made to a control for any reason, Lauren and her team would have to touch almost every document, and it was too easy to miss something.
"[Wdesk] brings it all together into one place," says Lauren. It makes it possible for the external audit firm and internal auditors—about 10 people—to work simultaneously on internal control testing. Lauren and her team utilize track changes to review edits and annotations to controls as they goes. They also keep a complete audit trail directly in Wdesk.
