How to Get the Most Out of the 2018 Workiva User Conference

August 7, 2018

There are only six weeks left until the Workiva User Conference, but you still have time to register for the conference at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Sept. 19–21.

Here are four ways to get the most out of the 2018 conference.

1. Take advantage of CPE credit opportunities

Earn up to 15 CPE credits by attending breakout sessions with featured speakers, hands-on trainings, roundtables, and specialty group discussions. Looking for even more CPE? Earn additional credits at our pre-conference activities, including the SOX & Internal Controls Professionals Group Summit and hands-on workshops.

2. Meet with Workiva experts in the Wdesk Lounge

Workiva experts are ready to help. The exhibit hall area is the perfect opportunity to get your questions answered all in one place. Schedule time with a developer or product expert to learn about the next generation of Wdesk, including new capabilities in spreadsheets, documents and presentations.

This is also the year to begin planning for the adoption of Inline XBRL. With the SEC deadlines now set, get a head start on your planning and learn first hand from XBRL professionals as they will walk through the upcoming changes and how Workiva can be an integral part of your future filing success.

3. Network, network, network

Face-to-face conversations with other professionals in your field are valuable, and we want to help maximize your interactions.

The conference kicks off with the Welcome Reception on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 6:00–9:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow conference attendees. Larger industry groups will also have specified areas to meet during this time.

The conference mobile app is another helpful resource for finding new contacts. Search for other attendees in your industry, and schedule time to chat over lunch or grab a coffee to learn all the ways they are using Wdesk in their roles.

4. Plan ahead

With the expanded hands-on and roundtable offerings, there are now over 80 different sessions to choose from. Whether you want to follow a specific track or try a variety of classes, you are sure to come away with valuable new Wdesk knowledge and industry insights.

Wondering what the best session track is for you, or what Wdesk Lounge booths to visit? Take this short quiz to discover it now. By answering a few questions, you can customize your experience at the conference.

And don't forget, you will experience all that Music City has to offer including music from rising country artists Danielle Bradbery, Clare Dunn and Granger Smith. You will not want to miss this educational and exciting event.
