Accounting Hall of Famer and Senior Advisor to WebFilings, Bob Herz, has launched his new book, Accounting Changes: Chronicles of Convergence, Crisis, and Complexity in Financial Reporting, published by the American Institute of CPAs.

In a time of new challenges within the financial industry, Bob Herz has remained a leader in reporting issues and developments in the U.S. and abroad. The book recounts his nearly 40 years as an accountant: from his start at Price Waterhouse in England to his role as an original member of the International Accounting Standards Board, his time as Chairman of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), and his current positions at the Columbia Business School and Advisor to WebFilings.

Accounting Changes focuses on Herz's experience as Chairman of the FASB and his contributions to improve accounting standards and processes.

Almost 40 years in the accounting profession ... has afforded me many opportunities to grow as a professional and person; and instilled in me a deep belief in the importance of sound reporting to the proper functioning of capital markets and the economy. Moreover, it has also convinced me that what you measure and report matters—that it affects behavior, actions, and outcomes—and therefore, it is critical that we measure and report on those things that do matter, in corporate reporting and beyond.

Bob hosts financial reporting workshops around the country; attend one to receive a signed copy of his book. See the schedule of workshops here. For more about Bob’s newest book, visit the AICPA store.
