Behind the W: Meet Mitz Banarjee, Head of Global Services

This blog post gives you a little insight into my job as Head of Global Services, what makes our client service so special, and a few of my favorite things.

What do you do at Workiva?

I believe that the most impactful things you can do as an enterprise is love your clients with all you've got and make them successful everyday. As Head of Global Services, I get to support my team in making sure we are delivering success to our clients.

What originally attracted you to Workiva?

When I started working for Workiva, we didn't even have a name—it was the early days. I walked in, saw a great product, and I was hooked. It was very attractive how humble everyone was. The Development team members were building this amazing technology, but they kept their eyes on how they could make it better. The founders had extensive experience and were down to earth. It was the heart of the people that attracted me most to Workiva.

What sets the Customer Success, Professional Services, and Consulting Services teams apart?

We have great people, but it's the values our people live by everyday that sets them apart. Our team members are the best at putting themselves in the shoes of our customers, understanding their struggles, and figuring out solutions that help them succeed in the long run. Our teams also make sure that they treat customers the way they would like to be treated—always putting our customers first.

Let's take it back—what was your first job?

My first job was when I was working at a carnival, all summer, as an assistant ferris wheel operator. Yes, that's right. That was my dream job as a kid! My first real job was a buyer's assistant for Toys 'R' Us. It was there that I got to play with all kinds of action figures and LEGO® toys to see and try to figure out if it would sell or not. I think I said "yes" to every toy...

What is your #1 most played song on Spotify?

"Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N' Roses.


If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

To build cars. I find cars to be a beautiful creation that involves engineering, art, and character.


Where do you most want to travel, but have never been?

I have visited all six habitable continents and multiple countries, but Antarctica is where I would really like to go. Scratch that, I would someday love to visit Antarctica.

What is your passion in life?

I was debating between music, comics, LEGO® toys, superheroes, guitars, and cars—but my true passion is to help as many people as I can in the short time I have on planet Earth.

Last thing, what is your favorite thing about working at Workiva?

My favorite thing is the way we take great ideas and make them into reality—quickly and effectively.
