The Exchange Community (TEC) is back and better than ever! We're pulling out all the stops to make this year's conference bigger than ever before. Read on for the top seven reasons to attend TEC 2016:

1. Learn how to work smart

From sessions to boot camps, there are opportunities to expand your knowledge at every turn. Follow one of the six session tracks—Accounting and Disclosure, XBRL, Finance, Audit and Control, Risk and Compliance, or Wdesk. Sign up for one of the boot camps for even more hands-on training. Return to your office with tips and tricks to share with your colleagues.

2. Hear from thought-provoking keynote speakers and industry leaders

Carey Lohrenz, the first female F-14 Tomcat Fighter Pilot in the U.S. Navy, and Amy Cuddy, a Harvard Business School professor and social psychologist, will each take the main stage.

Carey Lohrenz will address business challenges and how to win under pressure, while Amy Cuddy will share her knowledge about how body language and nonverbal behavior shapes identity and influences people.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to attend sessions held by industry leaders and network with them at evening events.

3. Network with your new friends on an aircraft carrier

Thursday, Sept. 8 features a night on the USS Midway—when it was commissioned in 1945, it was the U.S. Navy's leading ship of its class. Tour the living quarters and mess halls, and see the aircraft used in the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. Afterwards, dance the night away under the stars!

4. Enjoy beautiful San Diego

Come early or stay late to take advantage of all that San Diego has to offer. Experience the thriving restaurant scene, soak up the California sun, or attend a Padres game. It's hard to be bored in "America's Finest City." Take a break during the conference and clear your mind with a walk along the bay, or have a nightcap while exploring the Gaslamp Quarter.

5. Earn free stuff (that you will actually want!)

Every TEC attendee is eligible to earn up to 15 CPE credits over the course of the conference. In addition, by interacting with different booths in the Wdesk Lounge and attending evening activities, you'll also have the chance to earn TEC Tokens. Cash these tokens in at The Exchange Community Store for fun gear, cool gadgets, and conference souvenirs.

6. Take in the stunning view of the San Diego Bay

Attend the welcome reception on the rooftop of the Manchester Grand Hyatt and watch the sun set over the San Diego Bay while getting to know the faces you'll be spending the next week with. Enjoy the fantastic food, play games, and relax.

7. Exercise your body and your mind

Get on your feet and participate in the Workiva 3K on Wednesday, Sept. 7. It can be hard to find time for a workout when you're out of town—get one in while supporting a good cause. Plus, Workiva is making a donation per runner!
